On our recent trip to northern Europe we had a five day introduction to Norway. It included a ride on the renowned Flamm railway and a trip in a high speed ferry down the Sognefjord – the longest and deepest fjord in Norway – to Bergen. The ferry ride was broken in the small town of Balestrand, where we spent the night.
Here are some more images of that magic place.
Can you imagine spending a summer in that small home? The house can’t be more than 60m2, but there is a jetty with a place to braai and that little cabin cruiser for your use.

Waterfalls by the hundreds tumble down the precipitous slopes.

Blasting down the fjord, one hour from Bergen and out of the high mountains. Worth another visit?
